Loy Krathong Festival 2014
Loy Krathong is one of the most popular festivals in Thailand. It's also known as the Festival of Light. This festival is celebrated nationwide on the full moon night of the 12th Thai lunar month. This year's Loy Krathong Festival is held on November 6th.
How to make a Krathong
You will need: 1 banana trunk, 20 banana leaves, 20 small nails or pins, a stapler and some staples, a knife and scissors, some colourful flowers, 1 candle and 3 incense sticks
First, cut or slice a banana trunk to use as the base of a krathong.
Second, cut and fold the banana leaves like a lotus petal shape.
Next, pin the petals all around the base of the krathong.
After that, place colourful flowers, three incense sticks and a small candle in the centre.
Finally, float your beautiful krathong in the water and watch the candlelight from the floating krathong.
